At Benevis, our mission is to expand access to high-quality dental care in underserved communities. One way we do that is by ensuring that our dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants are empowered to deliver the best possible care with a focus on clinical excellence.
As of June 2024, 79.9 million people nationwide are enrolled in Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) plans, with children making up nearly half (47%) of the total enrollment. Many of these individuals struggle to access dental care. In fact, while 43% of U.S. dentists are signed up to accept Medicaid or CHIP plans for children, 67% did not treat a single child covered by one of these plans.
Benevis, however, is dedicated to expanding access to care for these children and their families, with over 80% of our patients being covered by Medicaid and/or CHIP. Beyond providing care, we try to increase access by being physically embedded in their communities. Our 100+ locally branded offices are conveniently located where the patients live and often our offices are within walking distance or in strip malls with easy access from a bus line. We offer expanded hours in many locations to provide appointments in the evening or on Saturday when it may be easier for patients to come outside of work and school hours. The goal is to make it as simple as possible for patients to make appointments and keep them, providing a dental home where their dental needs are met.
Beyond being accessible, Benevis strives to deliver clinical excellence through each patient visit. Our clinical teams provide patients comprehensive services from preventive care, restorative care, orthodontics, oral surgery, emergency care, and education, all tailored to the individual patient’s needs. We meet patients where they are and help them understand their individual plan of care. By providing them with a dental home, this communication continues with each visit, empowering patients to take control of their oral health.
Benevis ensures top-notch care through several ways, including recruiting top talent, mentorship, and exceptional compliance and safety standards.
Our 350+ dentists:
The Benevis Dentist Mentorship Program supports the growth and success of early-career dentists and dentists new to underserved populations. It is structured to provide emerging dental professionals with personalized guidance, hands-on experience, and the opportunity to learn from seasoned experts within a supportive environment. This unique program also extends its benefits to experienced general dentists transitioning from general family practice patients to underserved populations.
Our Better Benevis Compliance Program provides ongoing education and assistance to meet and exceed compliance requirements established by Medicaid as well as agencies that regulate dental offices and care, such as the Academy of General Dentistry, American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and OSHA. The program has been in place for two decades so that our dentists, caregivers, and operational teams understand the importance of medical documentation, billing accuracy, and reporting compliance concerns. These guidelines improve the quality of service and care for our patients.
Benevis strives for clinical excellence to meet our patients’ needs now as well as equip them for the future. Poor oral health can impact their overall health as well as their educational and workforce outcomes. Benevis seeks to overcome these negative outcomes by offering high-quality preventive and routine dental care in accessible locations for underserved populations. Our efforts are not only about improving oral health but also about helping families thrive in every aspect of life.
Thank you to our clinical and operational staff who are committed to clinical excellence, creating a nation of happy, healthy smiles and brighter futures nationwide. Find a Benevis office near you on our website.
